She lectures nationally and internationally. She has authored over 250 professional publications and five textbooks. Her clinical research focuses on gender differences in neuro-ophthalmic disorders, pseudotumor cerebri, photophobia, headaches, and eye pain. She specializes in neuro-ophthalmology and evaluates and treats complex visual complaints. She is past president of the American Headache Society and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
